new band found

the name's "lostage".

well ... it was SURRENDER that got me kind of hooked (thanks to nano-mugen). because the intro is so captivating. (the angst and rock and sleekness and emotion are perfectly balanced, damn nice!)
so i went to find the lyrics, and ended up at their pv. which is really just the band playing in a room, that's all, really simple.

and then i ended up watching their other 2 pvs (one of them's completely in red and blue, it hurts the eyes).

the lead singer has a really really weird voice (more like surreal) that takes some a lot of getting used to. but the guitars = bliss. exactly the kind of sound i was looking for.

the thing that struck me was how they're so unloved. :P
like the pv for SURRENDER only has 7 hits and the others only have 1 hit each.
despite the fact that they have albums dating back to 2006. that's not exactly new.
and there're 0 comments, and no lyrics, and no fans, from a site that usually churns out all the comments by fans and whatnot when i watch ajikan and UVERworld and all the better-known bands on the same site.
i think they're underappreciated. maybe people get scared away by the lead. or maybe they're more popular in japan? i can only hope. it'd be a freaking waste of talent, otherwise.

i'll wait around and see if i'm in the mood to go off venturing into foreign territory, then i might go get more of their stuff. their 2008 single doesn't sound bad, already.
