心痒痒
don't know what to say so i'm spamming old pictures.
(my romp at singapore poly while everyone else was overseas.)
ok, actually i just wanted to try out blogger's new image uploader.
if you're feeling charitable/ adventurous, try Dropbox. (i'm trying to get more space, heh.)
it has saved my life a gazillion times since my computer started failing on me.
and i don't use a thumbdrive anymore.

戻ってきた
com is back.
sans all my programs, fonts (T.T), settings, firefox bookmarks, tweaks, microsoft office (gg), and loads and loads of stuff whose non-existence i haven't realized yet.
on the bright side, all the annoying programs that once refused to uninstall themselves are gone. :D
i am extremely thankful for open source stuff.
thank you, people who are working very hard and living on donations because you're making my life a lot easier and me a lot richer. :D

ha!
today, msn finally gave up on asking nicely.
it tried to force me to upgrade by threatening that i can't use msn unless i get the new one (which rocks as much as vista does, imo).
and this is how you prevent obnoxious windows from doing that.
(only for vista, though.)
i'm keeping my skin and my messenger plus, thank you.

making a blogskin by hand is so satisfying!

plus, you get to control every single thing. even though i had to scan a few things (like the torn paper and the "chalk" which was done with oil pastels. yeah, i cheated. who keeps chalk at home nowadays?). and you don't have to credit anybody because you grab stuff off the internet from all over the place.
...
i love scanners. handy things to have around. can't live without one.

um, new greed is good and all because i haven't heard the old one before. but he was entertaining all the same. (; haha it reminded me of last night with the g00 drama cd.

google now lets gmail users satisfy their OCD nature and set your own colours for gmail! since their themes all more or less suck, of course i ran off to find my own colours.
found this colour palette that has the sexiest greys ever. i want to slather my (real) walls with them. it was the only colour palette that i thought was pretty enough to look at everyday.

sigh my sis wants to quit jap. i think she should have the right to choose, but now it seems like i had a part to play in it.
she's arguing with my parents almost everyday about this. uzai.
plus she doesn't know the meaning of "tact".
and O.O wth i just got prohibited from going out on weekends in the school term. again. "10 weeks only mah!" =.=
and for no good reason, too.
i think the more we drift away, the more restraints we're gonna get, the both of us.
must make use of this holiday to the fullest!

I <3 Electricity
seriously.
i was listening to the radio in the morning, when it went "piak" and died.
because our block's electricity got cut off.
so basically i spent the whole day at home without electricity.
the COMPUTER wasn't working (oh gawds it was torture).
the fans weren't working.
the handphone charger wasn't working.
the electone wasn't working.
the bath heater wasn't working.
the fridge wasn't working (i 吓到 when i opened the fridge because there was no light).
what was left: HOMEWORK, my pile of library books, my phone and my GC. (oh, and mysteriously the home phone.)
i was seriously considering crashing someone else's house but ... you know, toa payoh doesn't really have crashable houses.
ended up alternating between a long overdue chem tutorial, deathly hallows, another library book and food. and didn't do much homework. nor revision. i'm pathetic.
anyway the electricity's on now and i feel normal again and i love electricity to death.

on a side note, i think i got facebook phishing email.
because the sender's address is different from the usual one, and it said xy and weng jue invited me to facebook (whose invitations i accepted long long ago), and the format's all wrong, AND they tried to make me sign up for a new account.
suckers. >P< i'm not that stupid.

lifehacker FTW :D
we're supposed to use this good friday extended break to DO HOMEWORK and look what i ended up spending half my time on.
- getting QT Tabbar, Explorer Breadcrumbs, TeraCopy, InfoTag Magic and other addons for windows explorer
- tweaking about:config all over again because stupid firefox went and updated itself
- downloading gimp brush sets
- downloading gimp plugins
- downloading firefox addons
- downloading taskbar shuffle
- messing with my desktop then undoing everything
- downloading hp themes
- downloading hp games
- (getting addicted to hp games)
not to mention uninstalling those that failed.
and sorting out my folders.
AND watching stuff and reading stuff.
(those are some amazing addons, though.)
the first few are lifehacker's fault.
and the others are my sister's fault.
hang on, my dear hard drive!
i think some people would like to kill me.

いやいやしぶしぶ
wow i've abandoned posting for 1 week in favour of doing the class blog.
it's so stressful being a mod. hrrm. people have various divested interests.
anyway trawling through more than 50 skins gave me lots of inspirations! and good finds! (like how lineart is super nice etc.)
i want alex to draw stuff so i can scan and put as header. like that amazing guy drawing in front of me during CT session. *O*

oh yeah, i failed my maths test.
which was expected.
but it feels weird because i haven't hit rock bottom for anything since a long time ago. sec 1, maybe? i'm a bit worried.
must do lots and lots and lots of practice!

happy 牛 year!
that didn't look half bad, did it.
this year's not so bad, really. :D
yesterday there was 团圆饭 steamboat plus 捞鱼生 at my ahma's house.
er, at least my cousins and i are on speaking terms. (i remember some years back where we dao-ed each other)
so it was quite fun la.
hci's not as well known as nanyang. and yes, i'm in jc already ... (if i'm not wrong i'm the first one in my generation for my dad's side to go to jc. so everyone keeps thinking i'm in poly.)
last night i was in my room sewing. because when chinese new year starts we cannot use needles and etc.
today was quite sian.
because we started 拜-ing 年 very early.
usually for my dad's side, all my uncles will meet at my ahma's house first.
then we will go to my aunt's/ahma's sister's/uncle's house together to 拜年. (pardon the bad english)
this year, my dad decided not to wait for all the other people because they were late. so at all the houses it was just our family.
it's not a bad thing, because when a lot of people are around you get compared to people a lot.
but it was ... quiet. and there's not much 气氛 this year.
reached home super early because my parents wanted to sleep. =.=
and i wore my thigh-high socks and everyone thought they were leggings! :D
looking forward to tomorrow! because i like my mum's side's cousins!
i might be going to 春到河畔 later!

huzzah!
yay.
i finished tales of beedle the bard.
it's ... different. and really like a kid's fairytale book.
and i can't remember if i read the truth already or not. because i don't remember the plot. but i'm supposed to have finished it already. (so i borrowed it again)
the library has this promotion where you borrow 8 books and fill in a wordsearch. and it's surprisingly tricky. not bad not bad.
(me and my sis cheated and combined our 8 books into our mum's library card)

well, despite the pathetic turnout, it was quite crazy because we went to this place called settlers cafe to play boardgames (similar to mindcafe).
it's fun!
we ran through games like nobody's business, and there were a lot of cool games i have never seen before in my life.
like this game which consists of throwing rubber eggs that can bounce around.
and this bean game which was quite fun.
other than the price, it's a nice friendly place. (and it's not that ex) and you're perfectly entitled to make a hell lot of noise there. at the most, you'll just piss off the other customers. but the staff don't say anything. and they'll teach you how to play!
how's the prospect of hama chalet sound? :D

oh oh and i found all the sayonara zetsubou sensei raws! :D but screenshots are prettier.
edit: YES I SOLVED THE PROBLEM WITH MY DIV BOXES, IT WAS CAUSED BY STUFF I PUT ABOVE MY DOCTYPE WHICH MADE IE GO INTO QUIRKS MODE. NOW IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME IN BOTH BROWSERS. <3
