the long wait ended on wednesday and everything falls into place. i think i'm just a very lucky ass.
suddenly, my life has direction for the next, oh, 15 years.
i've met many people who are concerned that i will come to regret it. well, i've made some really bad choices and i've lived with them without agonizing over them too much. every experience means something to me, and the more disastrous it was the more impact is has on how i live and handle my life. (and you can always brag about them years later when you're talking about incredibly stupid things you've done.) i don't think i ever seriously regretted going through them.
so i'll stick with this deal and see where it brings me. at best, it is perfect for me. at worst, i'll still have a place in society to do good work.
the ridiculousness of the bond is thrilling, in a way.
think of it like this: i won't have to make any more major life-changing decisions till 15 years later!
but yes, i am thankful.
-
anyway, i've been throwing myself into lots of new stuff these past months.
there was the 3/11 earthquake that brought me out from my comfortable apathetic shell; it was the first natural disaster that i watched so closely and felt so keenly for the people. (is it immoral to be so hugely biased?) i remember listening to TBS radio on the very first day when casualty reports were still trickling in - a few people here and there in tokyo - and then news came in that 300 bodies were found on the shore and there was a shocked, grim silence in the broadcasting room. of course, the numbers have soared far beyond that now, but the feeling of pain and loss at the time was equally acute.
被災された皆様に心よりお見舞い申し上げます。
yet i didn't have the courage to step out and help. i could only glue myself to twitter, as if being within the community of fear would make a difference. and argue with my family about radiation levels. pathetic. (i'm glad singaporeans weren't very caught up in sensationalist reporting. )
please continue to support japanese products and don't shun travelling to japan after the situation is resolved! (i hope it will be soon.) i believe that consumer confidence and tourism is what they need the most to bound back at this point, more than donations or messages of encouragement.
only the rest of the world can give them that.
-
then the elections came around. i stopped trying to think and feel like the japanese and found myself, for the first time, relishing being a singaporean. how come nobody told me elections were this exciting! if it had been in 2009 i wouldn't have struggled at memorizing all those political terms in GP; i learnt all of them in a week. again, twitter everyday (i have given up on facebook). i suppose the period was right with all the time on my hands to go for rallies and watch the news on TV.
i am looking forward to the next general election, but i will have to be in a different frame of mind altogether. i confess to spending most of the time laughing at the drama and finding my position on things instead of thinking about the real problems.
-
work is as usual and i'm knowing more and more people by the day. this period of time is the best, when you're getting to know people enough to not be strangers, but haven't been exposed too much to their annoying/ scary/ weird sides yet. i don't think i would have ever completely fit in, due to my age and status, but if i had stayed i could be working with a bunch of fun people who really know how to chill.
the project isn't making much headway, and while my supervisors hope i will be struck with some brilliant idea that saves the day, all i can work at daily is to share the workload.
-
something i just screwed up: electone. i missed the deadline to register for the exam. and i'm ending it here. (another item to add to my list of stupid things i've done.)
it's a huge waste and i am very sad about it, yet i was hanging on to it more for my parents than myself. maybe it's time to let go. but if i let go, what message am i giving myself?
what will keep me going on in everything else?
-
tuition. someone's grades in my hands. it's not just about my own future, now. it's nice to have something to pull myself out when i get too caught up in my own affairs.
progress is slow but I WILL SEE TO IT i swear.
-
also, i've been reading and reading and reading because this opportunity to read good books every single day will never come again. it's exhilarating to fall into the world of one book after another and from fiction to abrupt reality, in and out.
into orson scott card now, i highly recommend. the intensity his writing can achieve even when half the conversations are in ungrammatical or flat-out broken english is amazing.
and thank you to the people who have been pulling me to see plays and movies and joining all sorts of events. or just going out. it's unfamiliar territory sometimes, but i can tell you that i'm glad i went.
damn, i will miss these times.
-
i think i've changed a little.
but, probably, so has everyone else.
two more months of the best time in my life, where i am truly, completely free.
but it's quite nice to spend time working on things i like (as compared to trying to study for GP, for example).
so kill me. i'm feeling irrationally optimistic today. :D
harry potter on thursday. i shouldn't have lent off my book, i want to reread it because the film conveniently left out so many things i'm surprised people can keep up. or maybe they don't.
and also, my first time with the wii. (yes, the kinect, i know, but we're a console-deprived family here.)
more: dawn treader movie. apparently the trailer looks good.
i like dawn treader the best out of the narnia series (so kill me).
partly because it's got the sea in it.
wouldn't it be cool to work on the ocean?
speaking of which, listen to this!
favourite electone piece ever.
just listen. don't have to watch.
(i chose this one because the stagea still sounds better. and she plays like my teachers.)
i want to watch confessions.
the radio was introducing it the other day and i thought it was some romance flick. (だって、「告白」じゃん。)
i've also given up on college in japan. because they need another bloody health examination!!
noooo there goes my free trip to osaka.
no matter! i'll earn it back by working!!!
sitex was great! no one seemed to enjoy it but me.
also, met yumi AND natsu (who are in the same commercial high school. wth no one told me).
i kind of gatecrashed their briefing at the hotel, heheh.
it's nice to know we can still talk normally.
old friends are lovely to have.
--
upcoming: JLPT (this is a real challenge), taiko workshop, karaoke, prom, taiwan trip.
what, you mean As aren't over yet?
this was the series that started all the craziness, that plunged me into this world, the turning point that determined how i am now (japan-crazy, as my family puts it, and knowing a lot of interesting things and people). remember when we were a little younger, and relatively stress-free? we spent our breaks rushing through tankoubons, drawing the FMA symbol on the class board, and all over our worksheets and notebooks and any available surface, fangirling like only fangirls can, and enjoying every single minute of it. ahh, the days. the discoveries.
i'm glad i was, and am part of the madness. i salute the people behind it (you guys know who you are).
over these 4 years (yeah, i've not quite graduated from a noob yet), i've gone from the volumes, to zomgfta's scanlations, then to the really fast but really bad scanlations on onemanga when zomgfta gave up. though FMA wasn't the shiniest nor had the prettiest bishies, its emotions were the rawest and its fights were the most interesting. [edit: OMG i forgot - THE MOST EPIC OMAKES EVER. ever.] and i think i'll still be able to draw that symbol 30 years down the road.
so, it's over. (i suppose it's a good thing it didn't drag for long.) i guess i can always read it again. or finally get down to watch the anime. or stalk arakawa-sensei. or save and buy the books.
after all, it's just the beginning of many more good things to come.
going out today was fun! although a little quiet, with 3 people. shutter island: 久しぶりに良い映画を見た。 it's my first NC16 in the cinemas, by the way! we had fun in our own way. :D
i realized you can't sing shoegaze at karaoke since the instruments are the star of the show and the voice is an accesory. defeats the point.
--
have i failed to mention that i have no more H3 lessons?
:D/D:
i look forward to having jap with peace of mind. on the other hand, we are now officially left to our own devices to study for the exam. other than email, that is. which is not very useful when a) you don't have any questions, or b) you have too many.
so! i shall reside in the library after school from now till the 23rd of may. sorry for being antisocial.
cip is over! well, there's still installation. but we tied everything up nicely yesterday.
for those who don't know what this is about: basically we get people to paint pebbles for us. then we lacquer them and install them on stools in one of the sgh gardens. (this is what i have been telling the inquisitive public for about 3 weeks.)
anyway, it was all very fun because of the nature of the work itself. and the people who came, of course. there were a lot of funny moments. :D
i spammed the contrast knob on some of them, so don't stare too long.
says all. especially the "FREE!".
done by xy. :D an excellent example of what you can do with pebbles! of course, this is not at all an accurate representation of the designs we have collected.
i love this.
this is paint. what more can i say? acrylic paint is a wonderful invention.
... ok, maybe: "this is a ball rolled out of dried/semi-wet paint with added toppings." or: "this is a cow's calling in life." ... couldn't tell, right? too bad it didn't get to be watermelon-sized.
and hippo graces our event!
so i painted stones, had loads of fun, got my hours, whiled my holiday away.
come SGH in january to look at the stones! there are some really good ones. and if you have the money please buy them too. :D
i've been reading it on the train for the past 3 weeks.
well, the back gets slightly better, but it's still a trashy romance novel all the same. there's nothing in it i haven't seen from whatever experience i have with this genre. it's like a really long fanfic just good enough to get published. besides, i don't like the main guy. i like 優 and his kansai-ben better P: i don't like the protagonist/writer too.
oh well. i learnt a lot of things. like a bit of kansai-ben. and slang. and gangsta-language. who knows? they might come in useful someday.
but THANK YOU everyone for the apple pie, and the die (like some continuation of last year's poker cards, yes, because "sometimes cards are just not enough"), and the cake, and the hugs and the smses. ((((: even though you're busy with pw and all.
i have something in mind with the die XD (and send me the pics!)
anyway, THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH! <3 friendship is still the best present of all. :D
milo vans ftw! i don't really remember them for the past 4 years ... csm was just sianing around and walking around, and laughing at the fac comm. (and zixin's Big Moment, haha) then 401 had an impromptu gathering where we talked about all the 401 topics like school and grades. :D then running around looking for teachers. which was really nice. i miss 401! teachers' race where ny totally owned hc and we all went to be traitors and cheered for ny.
went to the src lab after that with huimin and jiayi, which was NICE and roomy and chock full of shiny new equipment (and crytals at that point of time). seems like someone up there doesn't want me to do research.
then we did what we always do and went off to orchard kino to get xy's long overdue present, and lose ourselves in books and mags and laughing at more people on mag covers. and fawning over all the stuff that's classified under "don't really need but really really really wannnnt". we went to mess up the stationery section this time as well. i'll go look for the photos. popular totally sucks (except for the pricing).
after which we went to the national library to do pw (XD) and ended up doing a stupid thing. stupid thing = not realizing there's a photocopying room in lee kong chian reference library and copying chapters of a book with pencil and paper. but nevermind, i've gotten over it already.
borrowed Spiral, prequel to Loop by Suzuki Koji, (okay, so i like flipping jap people's names back). finished it feeling freaked out. and wanting to read Loop again. (which i did, in school) tsk, disguising horror in all that bio jargon. but it was good, and i'm left craving for books right now. >< (Loop was more mind-blowing, though) i think Ring (the first book) is full-blown horror ...
Loop sparked off a few people's interest already!
--
edit: GAHHHHHHH my earphones don't work on the computer (it's the computer's problem) how to watch stuff! UVERworld vids! gahhhhhhh!
--
edit 2: suzuki koji was born in hamamatsu! :D
--
EDIT 3: WTS the horror film Ring (with sadako climbing out of the tv and everything) is really adapted from Ring written by this guy! OOOOO: OH. MY. GOD.
how did it ever become something like Loop. how did i ever end up reading his books. now i want to read the book and watch the movie le lahhhhhhhh.
huangcheng yesterday! (spent 3 bucks on taxi fare D; and running all around raffles mrt)
anyway the props were really nice! especially the hdb flats. whoever did those, they were amazing.
didn't really get the storylines for the last 2 plays. i like the first, how the lights were done at the front! :D and all the bangbangbang going on, and there was some kind of conclusion. and missed quite a lot of lines because everyone kept laughing and there were only 2 hanging mikes or something, so the lines kenna drowned out.
the programme booklet (or rather, programme cards) was interesting!
i think there were some minor screwups, but due to that we managed to see insane and gecko ban1 props :D. and saw jane during xie3mu3, but didn't see yuanhan anywhere. you know, kenny bought lightsticks and we wanted to wave it at you all but the councillors didn't let! D: haha.
now i finally understand more about everything. (it's not bits and pieces anymore!)
--
OMG i am amazed by someone's IMBANESS! :D so amazing it's scary!
OMG THIS IS THE MOST HILARIOUS LOL-WORTHY EPIC FIGHT I HAVE EVER SEEN.
it's supposed to be the climax and I LAUGHED MY WHOLE WAY THROUGH IT.
omg BEST!!!!!
like come on, it wasn't even meant to be serious!!! and seeing death city/ shinigami-sama fighting like he's trying to catch a cockroach is DAMN FUNNYYYYYY! and the eye poke! and the kidnapping of ashura! ALL 100% roflmao-worthy!
:DDDDDD
HAHAHA mecha-shibusen! XD
shinigami-sama is so CUTEEEEEEEE.
OTHER THAN THAT, all the awesome displays of coolness/ hawtness is hereeeeee!
MIFUNE! <333333333333333 is love! so 正直!and samurai-ish! and it's great how they didn't drag the fight out! (though the ending was a bit cliche) and the exchange between black star and the zebra thing was so PRETTY i want screenshots.
EIBON was fun. (omg he has a nice voice) haha excalibur was semi-useful for once!
more importantly, NEXT WEEK SPELLS THE FULL GLORIOUS HAWTNESS OF KISHIN ASHURA, UNMASKED, AND FINALLY IN PROPER CLOTHES LIKE BAGGY PANTS AND A JACKET!!!!! + more epic fights with shinigami-sama being serious after the whole joke of a fight this week!
oh and ep 46's preview was LOL: "system check: all green!" XD total spoof.
and i see a lot of scenes begging to be made into iconsssss!!!
omg <3!
omg the SICK things you can do with a roll of mahjong paper and a bunch of people's imagination.
qr brought her cam today and we camwhored throughout the day, producing superbly GAY photos and more. :D
WE SHOULD TOTALLY MAKE A CLASS MOVIE. XD and let's stick to the april fools' thingo IT'S SO FUN. :D
I AM HIGH NOW BECAUSE SOUL EATER HAS MADE MY DAY and now i shall spend my adrenaline studying for gp. XD
i don't think i'll ever change my blog colour. to, say, green or blue or yellow for instance.
LONG TIME NO SEE, EVERYBODY.
this whole week i've only been online twice and i'm seriously lagging in all my stuff to watch and read. plus i've been going through major emotional trauma fluctuations that are supposed to be detrimental to a teenager's health.
what the hell. who cares.
i like GP because it's slack and you can draw wonderful things on your angel mortal letter like nobody's business.
speaking of which, i owe a lot of people apologies.
i sort-of-settled my choir stuff and got over the heartbreak (so that i don't cry every single time someone mentions it) but there's this hollow feeling everytime i go for cca and it's been digging at me. but they let me sing for SYF. :D so, yeah. i'll treasure it.
just for confirmation, i'll probably be quitting choir after SYF because my attendance can't even make the 50 mark. i was sad and i don't want to talk about it.
i put ELDDFS in the ISP registration. but i'm scared of the seniors. i just want to paint and do background stuff all the time. heck leadership and stuff it down the drain.
this is the one where everyone was looking upwards. click on it, you can see the faces quite clearly for a 2.0 megapixel phone camera. :D
ares didn't win the fac dance competition, and apollo is owning everyone this year. (and i danced wrongly at the front part omg. ><) feels a bit like we let the seniors and their expectations down. dance i/cs are the most poor thing. but 我心甘情愿 because we got to dance it again after apollo did theirs. so i'm happy! :D i wish we got to throw our gloves or something, the cap-throwing part is the thing i like most about apollo's fac dance.
ares fac dance is damn fun. must do whenever we have the chance okay!
we ponned da and che of sodache, which is how that photo managed to be taken. and we were running around in the dark with our lightsticks.
70 has a new pronunciation. :D we went to beauty world last night to hanky-panky. and i learnt a new skill! as expected, i got scolded like crap upon reaching home, and i'm "not allowed to go out after school" ever again. /:
life's not all money and time and grades and points and the suchlike.
anyway i cannot further stress how much i like my class.
happy birthday! i didn't go online on 25th, so sad.
anyway the point of this is to let you all gawk at her present. and the card. and the extra stuff that was thrown in 2 days beforehand.
it was fun! i think it's the most successful one in recent years, as well.
写真の発表でーす!
if you didn't know by now, gecko and xy and me designed the shirt (but we kopped sunrise's designs) and we drew the unfinished wings on ulqui and put a pink ribbon around his waist and xy did the card which is super nice and which is incomplete in the photo. :D yes. omg i want the shirt. ;.;
and the chibis came from the back of gecko's perfect mission fanbook which was SCANNED BY HAND and PHOTOSHOPPED BY HAND and omg my hand nearly died.
ulqui was gecko's brilliant idea because she wanted to tie a ribbon around his neck. but later cmi so we put it around his waist.
we dao-ed insane for the whole week because we were running around trying to do stuff. sorry lah. XD
say oh-em-ulq! now!
haha i was browsing through my photos today and i have scandalous blackmail-able photos of several people sleeping!
there's all the GP homework, the stupid jap presentation, 意見文, bio tutorial, maths tutorial 2B, chem tutorial which i still haven't finished and the concept map asddfjkhgrdbfiuejeufuaduhfz. off to plunge myself into homework again! no, must watch gundam first. aaaaahhh so pathetic.
i finished tales of beedle the bard. it's ... different. and really like a kid's fairytale book.
and i can't remember if i read the truth already or not. because i don't remember the plot. but i'm supposed to have finished it already. (so i borrowed it again)
the library has this promotion where you borrow 8 books and fill in a wordsearch. and it's surprisingly tricky. not bad not bad. (me and my sis cheated and combined our 8 books into our mum's library card)
--
tickets for ponyo on wednesday: BOUGHT :D
kuroshitsuji's getting a bit lame.
i'm working on the box model hack, we'll see how it goes.
--
went to my ahma's house just now. going again later for reunion dinner. しんせきのことあんまりすきじゃない。(dad's side) my extended family has family politics. and my dad's stuck in the middle of it all. getting angpows later. :D
(and i don't get to use my angpow money, it goes to the bank.)
well, despite the pathetic turnout, it was quite crazy because we went to this place called settlers cafe to play boardgames (similar to mindcafe). it's fun! we ran through games like nobody's business, and there were a lot of cool games i have never seen before in my life. like this game which consists of throwing rubber eggs that can bounce around. and this bean game which was quite fun. other than the price, it's a nice friendly place. (and it's not that ex) and you're perfectly entitled to make a hell lot of noise there. at the most, you'll just piss off the other customers. but the staff don't say anything. and they'll teach you how to play!
how's the prospect of hama chalet sound? :D
my blogger posting pane suddenly duplicated itself. O.O
oh oh and i found all the sayonara zetsubou sensei raws! :D but screenshots are prettier.
edit: YES I SOLVED THE PROBLEM WITH MY DIV BOXES, IT WAS CAUSED BY STUFF I PUT ABOVE MY DOCTYPE WHICH MADE IE GO INTO QUIRKS MODE. NOW IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME IN BOTH BROWSERS. <3
first, cny celebrations. which were quite lame (i missed half of it anyway.) council really put in a lot of effort to do the thing, though. do not ever wear the 90th tee with jeans as it is damn ... gross. also, as we love school too much, half the class turned up in full school uniform with school badge included. ate nuggets and nachos with HOT CHEESE (thanks, siyuan!) and got coerced into eating jelly. right. (我欠钱欠过年:P) then we lao yu sheng and made a mess out of the whole school! (and many salmons were sacrificed in the process) the last event was mass dance which we all promptly escaped from. and we went back to ny to look for teachers. ms tan wasn't there so we left a note. and i finally saw ms olivia chee's desk properly! which has TONS OF GUNPLA IN A ROW AND MANY MANY POSTERS. like saiyuki. XD and a mini ichigo figurine. shouldn't have walked past so fast last time. but then at that time i didn't watch gundam yet. ms lye still told me the name of the teacher is a "well-kept secret". tsk.
then we missed one 961. and went to causeway with xy to go look for her bag. (insane's sis came) and we did a lot of crazy things at the shopping centre. and took photos in public that you all should never ever take in public. after i shop the pics i will put here!
after xy bought her bag ($21) we went to the library AND I FOUND FOOL MOON AND DEAD BEAT! insane borrowed 3 harry dresden books, ha. so now i have these two plus proven guilty to last me over new year's eve when i go and park myself at my ahma's house. and the library extended the 8-book loan thing! yay. (and you can't take pictures in the library) neoprints didn't happen. anyway i had no money. came to school with less than $1 total in both my wallets.
1. the pronoun for innovator amoebas is now "hit". as in, "ribbons and hit's gay green hair." originated from a mix of his, her and it. gecko's wonderful idea. 2. gecko's brain is officially screwed. and it's contagious. 3. ship anew and halleujah because god says so! 4. causeway ≠ cosplay, boys and girls. 5. mister bushido's ahead - 's = mister bushido ahead (do want) and many more.
(OH MY GOD I WENT HOME JUST NOW AND THE T-SHIRT SHOP NEAR MY BUS IS SELLING DEATHNOTE T-SHIRTS. AT 3 FOR $20. BUT THE CUT SUCKS. I WANT THEM TO PRINT IT ON BIG BAGGY T-SHIRTS. ToT)
not bad, didn't suffer too much ear damage. XD 冗談。^^ (actually ju can sing in tune if nobody shifts the pitch. but it usually lasts for a while only.)
the ming arcade lift is WORKING again! and the rooms are big and nice! we went to hammer at their staircase door like we were demanding ransom for nothing!
more importantly, it's more updated! like how they have the whole world world world album! <3 (night diving is super fun to sing, especially in 2 parts, always nobody sing with me T.T)and the ponyo song!and a lot of new stuff like stuff from various season 2s.of course, ju and limlayting spammed dbsk, but that's okay.left at 3. T.T and was totally late for cca. so what time did you guys stay till in the end?
thus ends the last day of the best holiday ever in my life! (i think i didn't go out so much in p6) i can't really remember what i did for 6 weeks, but i did manage to go out like crazy and have gatherings with people like crazy! and i managed to learn some css! (i got 17/20 for the online quiz! XD) and set up this place without killing myself, took me more time than what's really needed.
cca was slack because we just did the new year songs and the one for monday. yes, ny people, you will hear the same songs you have been hearing for the past four years during the chinese new year celebrations. =.= i have seniors who are permanantly on high. maybe it helps curb the stress ...
my seniors say take bio unless you really like/ do well in physics! and all the bio teachers are good! most people get like 80+ or 90+ for finals! and it's interesting! *trying to psycho people to jump ship*
and important! MUST REMEMBER TO SAVE A SEAT FOR ME ON MONDAYYYYY. otherwise i'll drift around the auditorium and distract the speakers after i come back. ^^
the chalet is in this super ulu place (my dad got lost trying to get there), but it's very very big! and it has 3 huge bedrooms with 6 beds, and like 3 toilets. and the kitchen is as big as mine. it's big enough to hold 50 people. (and 9 stayed over, what!)
the fire was very good! nice and hot. thanks to kaiyun's supreme fire starting skills. and ju-tachi blasted dbsk from inside the chalet. =x=
AND WE MADE THE BEST MARSHMALLOWS EVER. brown fungal outgrowth included. and you can suck the melted insides out and the whole marshmallow will deflate. that kind of marshmallows.
and the cats! cats are another thing i'm a sucker for. fat greedy buta-nekos.
after which we went inside to play mahjong and i only managed to play one-and-a-half rounds before going. T.T
which basically means, if there wasn't any error in the communication, the lead singer now could be nishikawa instead of hyde! O: *shivers thinking about it*
also on radio this little guy called シエル wrote in to say that it's his birthday and his mom fell down or something. :D
we went to choa chu kang library to settle the card. i suddenly feel old. like when you see ny people in uniform walking around the place. "hey, ny people!" then you realise: "hey i'm not in ny anymore!" of course, walking around in home clothes and slippers while everyone else is walking around in school uniform and heavy bags is 爽 enough. now i can walk around my block meeting all those secondary school people and think "yay i'm older than all of you!" and me and my sister are both older than the sec ones this year. that's what makes me feel really old. like we're in a different generation altogether.
junning's mom rocks. she makes super good food. :D and kaiyun ended up starting the fire on her own. junning's cake is nice!
i think i didn't eat alot. because i woke up hungry. plus i went home early yesterday.
mostly we hung around the fitness corner (it's a nice place to hang around!) and talked about school. (why do we always end up doing that.)
oh, and thomas! <3! (toe-moss, haha) 10 times better and more interesting than edward cullen.(don't worry edward maybe if i read twilight again it'll be 5 times!)
o level results are coming out on monday!>< 緊張してる。i'm not that confident about my performance that day ... A1A1A1A1A1A1A1A1A1 PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE even if i get A2 for chinese i'm not taking it again! 浪费我的青春。 *tries not to think about B3* but if i get A2 for jap i'll be super sad. we shall see.
whew. omg i ate bread for lunch and nothing for dinner. (unless you count 3 scoops of haagen dazs ice cream and one crepe shared among 3 people as dinner.)
and a lot of people changed! especially meeting for the first time in 4 years. most of the guys are now twice as tall as they were ... one guy looked like he works for newurbanmale ... O.o one of the girls is as tall as the guys. another dyed her hair brown. some look like they're 21 already. everyone said i grew! :D
basically we wandered around vivo looking for a place big enough to fit 25 people. and ended up at haagen dazs. then we went to the rooftop and sat in a circle and talked about the old times, haha.
watched yes man. :D
before going home at 9 and promptly getting scolded. ><>
i'm officially under curfew at 9 pm. T.T
i've been starving a lot lately. due to screwed up schedules ... it's very sad. never never ever go on a diet. because forcing yourself not to eat is the saddest thing on earth.
before i went vivocity i went to wander around citylink/ raffles city. (after meeting xy) then i went to HMV. then ... ... i found these!
<333333333333!THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN A FREAKING AJIKAN CD IN SINGAPORE.(i think we didn't search properly the first time/ it was sold out.) AND PANIC FANCY IS SELLING AT $19.90 WHYYYYY DOES THIS NOT HAPPEN TO AJIKAN CDS! D: tried very hard not to freak out in the store. :D
there's this very cute shop at the basement of raffles city that sells cute jap stationery! like super cute notepads! バナ夫, anyone knows?
omg i forgot that there's no gundam today! and stupidly went to search anime-media and tudou for it.
we have found the cash studios jap karaoke place! both outlets! the newer one opens anytime now. who wants to go?
and we walked down the whole orchard road on monday to find it okay! from near newton to near dhoby ghuat. insane went on a book buying spree. :D gecko was supposed to buy new year clothes together with her. orchard's just not the right place. seriously, the idea of you two shopping for clothes together is very amusing. (maybe you'll 气昏 the shop aunties or something)
(i will not talk about the dingy stairs and locked doors. and btw, we still haven't bought the present ... )
EDIT: omg i can't believe i forgot this.
i killed a seed! :D
actually, what happened is this: i kick this random seed on the ground ONCE while walking around orchard; it rolls along the footpath; it rolls off the footpath; it rolls onto the road; it promptly gets run over by a car; it is squished flat and i am proclaimed a murderer!
i apologise for depriving you a chance to grow into a tree! but it was funny. XD

i've been walking around a lot lately. like that day where i reached east coast park at 10 am and walked up and down to look for subway/ pass the time. well, it's not a bad thing.
all the websites i go to seem to be going on a christmas decoration spree. gendou's christmas theme hurts my eyes. >< like those pages catagorized under "AGH MY EYES" in uncyclopedia. and of course, anime-media's snowstorm. (it stopped today) so far i've never seen a chinese new year themed website. XD (i think my eyes would hurt more)
oh yeah oh yeah! hc choir is holding IP auditions again! this time it's open to everyone who's gonna be in hwachong next year! don't need choir background! it's sometime next week. i think there's altogether 9 places for guys and girls. if you're interested and want to go try, tell me okay? if you pass, you'll be in before february, i think. because if i don't bring someone, i'm dead ...

*mourns*
it ended all too perfectly.
but i love the irony - defying the meaning of "fullmetal", then the very meaning of "alchemist" itself.
embarrassing reminiscing stuff.
this was the series that started all the craziness, that plunged me into this world, the turning point that determined how i am now (japan-crazy, as my family puts it, and knowing a lot of interesting things and people).
remember when we were a little younger, and relatively stress-free? we spent our breaks rushing through tankoubons, drawing the FMA symbol on the class board, and all over our worksheets and notebooks and any available surface, fangirling like only fangirls can, and enjoying every single minute of it.
ahh, the days. the discoveries.
i'm glad i was, and am part of the madness. i salute the people behind it (you guys know who you are).
over these 4 years (yeah, i've not quite graduated from a noob yet), i've gone from the volumes, to zomgfta's scanlations, then to the really fast but really bad scanlations on onemanga when zomgfta gave up.
though FMA wasn't the shiniest nor had the prettiest bishies, its emotions were the rawest and its fights were the most interesting. [edit: OMG i forgot - THE MOST EPIC OMAKES EVER. ever.]
and i think i'll still be able to draw that symbol 30 years down the road.
so, it's over. (i suppose it's a good thing it didn't drag for long.)
i guess i can always read it again. or finally get down to watch the anime. or stalk arakawa-sensei. or save and buy the books.
after all, it's just the beginning of many more good things to come.
