but it's quite nice to spend time working on things i like (as compared to trying to study for GP, for example).
so kill me. i'm feeling irrationally optimistic today. :D
harry potter on thursday. i shouldn't have lent off my book, i want to reread it because the film conveniently left out so many things i'm surprised people can keep up. or maybe they don't.
and also, my first time with the wii. (yes, the kinect, i know, but we're a console-deprived family here.)
more: dawn treader movie. apparently the trailer looks good.
i like dawn treader the best out of the narnia series (so kill me).
partly because it's got the sea in it.
wouldn't it be cool to work on the ocean?
speaking of which, listen to this!
favourite electone piece ever.
just listen. don't have to watch.
(i chose this one because the stagea still sounds better. and she plays like my teachers.)
i want to watch confessions.
the radio was introducing it the other day and i thought it was some romance flick. (だって、「告白」じゃん。)
i've also given up on college in japan. because they need another bloody health examination!!
noooo there goes my free trip to osaka.
no matter! i'll earn it back by working!!!
sitex was great! no one seemed to enjoy it but me.
also, met yumi AND natsu (who are in the same commercial high school. wth no one told me).
i kind of gatecrashed their briefing at the hotel, heheh.
it's nice to know we can still talk normally.
old friends are lovely to have.
--
upcoming: JLPT (this is a real challenge), taiko workshop, karaoke, prom, taiwan trip.
what, you mean As aren't over yet?
bonded with old friends, made new friends, learnt new words, saw things in a different light.
i think one of the most meaningful things to me was jap, where we got to exchange views, questions stereotypes and know what other people think of us singaporeans.
we also talked a lot. i learned a lot.
lots of mixed feelings.
but for now, let me live my old life. (homework ah!)
i feel incompetent. i can't remember half the sentence patterns and three quarters of the don't-know-how-many thousand words needed. can't understand the things coming out of the cd player. can't speak in proper sentences.
plus getting owned in coursework. i'm in escapist mode for coursework now. don't think i'll change my topic. i'll try to focus on different areas and hopefully come up with something unique. hopefully. need an interesting topic for the 2nd one. how. 無差別殺人/和食と健康/海外版CD輸入禁止/卒業クライシス?
CA1 in april. ):
H3 is really interesting but did i make the wrong choice? (if only they would put it on another day!! #$%@&%*!!)
cip is over! well, there's still installation. but we tied everything up nicely yesterday.
for those who don't know what this is about: basically we get people to paint pebbles for us. then we lacquer them and install them on stools in one of the sgh gardens. (this is what i have been telling the inquisitive public for about 3 weeks.)
anyway, it was all very fun because of the nature of the work itself. and the people who came, of course. there were a lot of funny moments. :D
i spammed the contrast knob on some of them, so don't stare too long.
says all. especially the "FREE!".
done by xy. :D an excellent example of what you can do with pebbles! of course, this is not at all an accurate representation of the designs we have collected.
i love this.
this is paint. what more can i say? acrylic paint is a wonderful invention.
... ok, maybe: "this is a ball rolled out of dried/semi-wet paint with added toppings." or: "this is a cow's calling in life." ... couldn't tell, right? too bad it didn't get to be watermelon-sized.
and hippo graces our event!
so i painted stones, had loads of fun, got my hours, whiled my holiday away.
come SGH in january to look at the stones! there are some really good ones. and if you have the money please buy them too. :D
i've been reading it on the train for the past 3 weeks.
well, the back gets slightly better, but it's still a trashy romance novel all the same. there's nothing in it i haven't seen from whatever experience i have with this genre. it's like a really long fanfic just good enough to get published. besides, i don't like the main guy. i like 優 and his kansai-ben better P: i don't like the protagonist/writer too.
oh well. i learnt a lot of things. like a bit of kansai-ben. and slang. and gangsta-language. who knows? they might come in useful someday.
the written report is finally handed in and in some lookable state! as compared to the mess of words with different fonts and colours and highlighting and whatnot just the day before.
also, i'm feeling irrationally high about the wordcount. yes, i know, we'll kill ourselves cutting it. but it's kind of ... exhilarating to go off the extreme end.
i wonder if i'll miss it. after all, i like group work. *forgets about all the painful things about pw* *gets bashed* *remembers* maybe it doesn't seem so bad now. wait till OP comes and i'm major screwed. ~.~
i think it was quite okay. the questions were the scariest. they finally have the right to ask us about society and its problems, even though it's only a small bit. it can be a killer if you didn't prepare for your topic.
for example: "what would you propose to do to keep more doctors in public hospitals?" (because they're all going off to private hospitals and everything.) luckily i went for the medicine talk, man.
got chia sensei as the examiner. but we were both being very professional. :D i don't know if she really forgot my name, though. but she acted as if she didn't know me.
anyway doesn't matter. wait for results!
i don't think i'm taking jlpt 1, because i really think i'll fail this year. besides, i don't even know half the stuff in jlpt 2 yet. (this is just self-justification.) let's settle promos and OP and all that jazz first, shall we.
*tired*
i need to get back my pre-blocks brain. in absorbing mode and everything. for now, it's still a pile of goo.
真中の人は困るんだよな・・・ everyone is coming to me to tell me things about other people. it's challenging being the mediator sometimes. it's not a very nice feeling.

jap.
escapade in the pouring rain!
i think i whacked someone quite hard at the j8 bus stop and she actually "OI"-ed at me very loudly. oops. and i didn't apologize somemore. >< if i ever see her again i'll run away, i tell you.
i'm frickin cold now because i'm still recovering from the combined effects of sharing an umbrella in the heaviest rain this year when we walk to moelc, the aircon in the classroom, my wet jacket, standing in the wind for 15 minutes while my dad's car was stuck along the expressway and the like. erm, sorry llt! P: throwing you out in the rain. next time bring your own umbrella. XD
woohoo i now get to rant about elitism in my sakubun. =.=
--
moar new bands!
hooked on サカナクション (Sakanaction)'s album シンシロ (Shinshiro).
i just randomly got it because it has the single which hit #1 on oricon.
eh ... it's quite new! and scary sometimes. and different. Sakanaction plays club and house and electronica, and it takes a lot to get used to them. there are also many many catchy tracks that get stuck in your head.
maybe i'll review this next time. heh, i really like the lead's voice.
i think they warrant a label. they're that addictive.
i mean it! i don't know what's the big fuss, actually. it's an intellectual, thought-provoking and fascinating book. and no, it's not depressing. (as expected from paulo coelho. and there's a reference to The Alchemist inside. ;D) we probably all know it but make fun of it anyway. and let gecko read it lah shouldn't deprive her of a good book. haven't finished it yet, but getting a lot of new ways of looking at things.
--
(you have the right to come and strangle me if i ranted to you about jap.) but the fact that my speech is screwed still holds. qr is so qianbian she's gonna walk into the oral room and lie to the examiner for 10 minutes.
--
lots of H1N1 happenings today.
well, importance of social responsibility and all.
by the way, my mum doesn't seem too shocked by what i told her ... maybe my rendition's not as impactful? she's more busy complaining to the cake shop.
lots of people are unhappy with each other, and not being straightforward with each other, and it's not solely one person's fault.
i've long since learnt to make only friends. it's just not worth the energy, you know? you win sometimes and lose sometimes when you're facing off with someone. daoing is better. plus, there's the immeasurable sense of guilt afterwards, especially if you're the one who started it. (one of the worst mistakes in my childhood, i still don't know why i did it.)
lots of people are developing fevers as well, ain't it exciting and wonderful for our well-being? =.= and the school's still not telling us anything.
what should i buy! (the possibilities are endless.)
and WHAT THE SHIT the letter says i'm from RJC but I AM NOT NOT NOT NEVER. but seeing as they're giving me money i shall not complain. (wah skarly they gave to the wrong person /:)
:D

edit: OH this is the 100th post already! maybe i should start changing the header and stuff.
end of the super long and tiring and project/test/etc etc-laden week!!!
i got into bio olympiad!!! :DDDDDDDDDD
can see the 401 gang in bio olympiad again! shihui! huimin! :D sounds promising! *happy* our class owned the class next door and i think we had the most number of people in S7 who got in. so there. didn't see mr poh today though.
(omg i just saw the maths marks comparison graphs on smb D: omg smtp omg S7 omg arts combi ppl)
--
the sky was purple on thursday morning. i'm too nice for my own good. everyone laughed at my kindergarten photo today. my box file is in a sorry state.
--
i'm failing all my tests it's exhilarating. it's like ... see how much you can fail. i'm suddenly hit by the realization that my maths is so lousy and my chem is so lousy and my gp is so lousy and my jap is so lousy i can't even construct a sentence without grammatical errors these days. it's scary. only bio is keeping afloat.
oh speaking of which, the jap koukou people arrived today! *きたい~* and wth we have to interview them and write a freaking report. wth.
--
ulquiorra and all his bleeding holes. D; nooooooo. first grimmjow, now this.
post about 00's last 2 eps after it finishes next week! this week's made me go squeeeeeeee. yes.
my LES interview is major screwed! >< cmi le lahhhhh. i can think of so many pro-er people who will get in.
well, wasn't meant to be an easy interview. but all my crapping and not reading the newspaper and knowing ZERO about what MM lee said in the papers this monday got seen through and dug out thoroughly. traumatising experience.
reading newspapers is not my thing. T.T having to read newspapers for the sake of things like GP and PW and LES interviews is kind of sad. spending all your time reading newspapers and not reading any books is sadder. (remember that chinese compre about the uselessness of 资讯 and why you should read a book any day?) articulating the mess of thoughts in my brain into full-strung coherent sentences is also not my thing. i'm a visual learner, thank you very much. i don't want to go for another scholarship interview ever again! that's how traumatising it was. i'll just pay my own university fees by slogging somewhere and get a normal degree and get a job that i want to do and not a job that my family and the society and people who want me to make money in the future want me to do. and live my life MY WAY. and not how you think my life should be lived. (suddenly qr's lifetime ambition of being a taitai doesn't seem as absurd as i thought it was.)
i probably screwed bio olympiad selection test as well, but omg i really really want to get in because it means tons of extra bio stuff you get taught and explained by good teachers. and you don't even have to go do presentations or whatever! just do 200 mcq questions! (i just want to go learn all the nice topics and flunk all the tests, but of course the school wouldn't allow that, would they?)
getting scolded for things like drawing things on a blank piece of paper and studying at the computer the whole day is not helping. neither is PW.
i sense something bubbling underneath our class that's going to explode someday. probably near the exams.
how how how how procrastinating like siao. and i always type procrastinating as procrastinationg.
behold! japanese grammar dictionary that cost me at least $30 from kino. the cover is shinyyyyy!~ it smells like my bag of stuff from japan when i brought them home from japan. how come japanese bookshops smell so nice and singapore bookshops have no smell! and it's made of the genius kind of paper that's bendy like hell when you open, so even if you open it flat out the spine doesn't move! (and, of course, it has all the bunkei explanations a jap student could ever ask for from jlpt level 4 to 1, plus translations into english, chinese and korean (qr was delighted) O.o they should have let us buy this in sec 1, they should.) ^^
anyway i was looking through my folder of s70 photos today and i realised that they have one thing in common: THEY'RE ALL BROWN. due to the genius person who invented our school uniform. *wants everyone to scan and send their school photo so i can threshold and plaster all over the class blog*
holidays is almost over and 2 out of 12 things on my to-do list are cancelled. and i regrettedly sank back into my post-eoys-exam-jlpt-everything holiday lifestyle for the whole week. bringing myself to study suddenly feels very weird. oh no not good. graphing is killing my brain. i hate lamda! can't you all just use a! or b! or c! i keep drawing it the wrong way round. there better not be any lamdas in the next lecture test. i want to read books! and not tons and tons of gp articles!
401 bbq/ gathering at zhuo lao shi's house was FUN! (esp fac dance battle hahaha.) and just sitting around and talking and catching up with everyone. sec school life seems so innocent now. and less complicated. less touchy. less dangerous. in jc your reputation gets spoiled AND gets around pretty quickly.
90th gala was fun as well because we got to run around and look for people before our performance. which made it worth it.
currently hooked on nakamura yuusuke's stuff again! and glitter loud box!
also made kishin icons but they're too embarrassing to post.
last week's ep gave me a headache and this week's helped. slightly.
i like one-on-one better than fleet-on-fleet, maybe that's why.
anyway my only takeaways from this few eps was: - DEAR MR BUSHIDO-REVERTED-HAMU AND HIS SCARRRRRRRRR. - die nena dieeeeeee! - die wang liu mei dieeeeeee! - omg i now have a figurine of a dead guy! T.T - veda eyes are PRETTTTAAAAAY! me want. or, me want all the cool people to have. - the importance of haros in gundam society.
i hope more interesting things happen next week! and dammit, stop showing naked people floating around in shimmering particles!
:D
omg i went to see misshallelujah's lj just now and nearly died. plus now i can't go when my parents are at home because there's a huge big swearword staring down at me from all my tabs.
yay i am unstuck on velonica and stuck on i am riri now. (the lyrics are beautiful :D)
yay i got my first angel letter today! and i also wrote my first mortal letter today!
it feels like i've gone through 2 weeks of school but it's only one. and there's 24 more weeks of PE. and i got sabo-ed (thanks, man) to run the stupid 90 laps thing when i CANNOT RUN for 3 minutes without feeling like i've run 2.4.
looks like i will kenna cross country next year.
sucks. i hate running. it's the dumbest, most boring, most draining, most useless sport in the world. it doesn't even need you to strategize. (okay i'm sorry to all trackers but i'm glad i don't know many personally (:)
my class is amusing. seriously. come on, how many classes can turn a lame bio practical into some kind of joke? and have so many amusing incidents in 1 week? of proper SCHOOL? like burning people with a heated-with-blue-flame-of-bunsen-burner crucible?
GP is so slack and interesting i like. :D
oh oh oh and lysosome is my new favourite organelle! because it's damn cool! like this potential bomb the cell is carrying around all the time that can either kills the bad stuff, or kills the cell. ("our cells commit suicide everyday" sounds damn cool can!)
and YES the wonders of the ability of typing every single letter of the alphabet on the GC! resulted in lots of fun, if you get my drift. too bad i hit enter accidentally./:
sensei is being a prick because she genuinely does not care what happens to my cca. or me, in general. and she underestimated our jap ability, tsk!
but jap is really fun! (i'm sorry) lessons are going at a pace that's just nice, for me. like we don't read out the examples in the textbook line by line and stumble over kanji anymore and we have more random class conversations in jap and we go through 5 sentence patterns per lesson and we don't have to wait for people to volunteer to read texts anymore.
i didn't do my first piece of homework. this shall not become a habit!
i only remember chem teachers who think we're idiots, stupid senior-meet-junior session where we pass food around with our mouths, CT games that were quite lame.
we painted the class banner! and had tons of class bonding. shall post pics soon.
and CT DINNER. was absolutely crazy. i think i can safely say it's the craziest dinner in my life. (sad right.)
basically we went to the prata place opposite beauty world. and our convo topics revolved around sick stuff. (became a running joke) and we played zongjimima and made a hell lot of noise until the other people stared at us. fun!
and we talked about crazy stuff on the bus as well.
day 9
YEAH ARES WON WAR GAMES!
lots of violence and shoving and tackling, and cases of people grabbing other people in weird places and lots of other fun things. brings back student care memories, haha. (where i used to run around with a bunch of guys) it's bringing out the violent streak in me. /:
oh yeah and we totally went wild with the face paint and did the ulqui eye streaks and it was jane's idea to streak my neck with red paint so i looked like someone cut my throat. and it was damn hard to wash off after that. YES it's damn shuang to be in the red faculty because yellow face paint can never pass off as blood!
we crashed joanne's condo's swimming pool toilets to bathe. XD
finished the banner and it's looking good! i love painting banners. even though i can't design them. and i'm now the www.dafont.com person. XD
yeah i love orientation. and the ares fac dance. i now refuse to dance any of the mass dances because the fac dance pwns them all.
everyone who is from my class and sees this! go and listen to this song and LEARN IT AND MEMORIZE IT FOR TOMORROW'S SKIT!
that is all.
ナイスじゃないっす。 credit to gecko.
go away go away never come here again.
edit: forgot to say that i passed the jap diagnostic test. (: (wahaha i totally flunked my 2nd section)
