i made gundam 00 font today! actually i modified this font to look like the font sunrise uses. (the one on the gunpla boxes) because the only difference between the two is that the capital letters "G" and "N" are different, and the height is different. (gundam's is flatter)
the "N" turned out a bit weird ... but the "G" was okay. i like the "0"s, haha. because that's the whole point of gundam, ain't it?

i've been walking around a lot lately. like that day where i reached east coast park at 10 am and walked up and down to look for subway/ pass the time. well, it's not a bad thing.
all the websites i go to seem to be going on a christmas decoration spree. gendou's christmas theme hurts my eyes. >< like those pages catagorized under "AGH MY EYES" in uncyclopedia. and of course, anime-media's snowstorm. (it stopped today) so far i've never seen a chinese new year themed website. XD (i think my eyes would hurt more)

omg EPIC BATTLE! with big machines vs-ing each other! the nicest battle in the past few eps. (maybe because i can understand big machines blowing up each other) although everyone knows celestial being will win, it was still very nice.
memento mori was so pretty when it blew up! can tell that the producers put in extra effort to make the scenes. ribbons should be pissed off for the next few weeks. (i'm sorry i said all those things about you!)

OMG finally it does not rain when i go to the beach!!! and i finally went to a successful beach outing!

and we rollerbladed and the others cycled and we played bridge on the footpath and we went to hit the b*tch beach!
on the way home on bus 31, there was this little boyboy sitting behind us! (we were around the front seat, and he was sitting with his back facing us behind us) he was super cute! he put his teddy bear on the seat beside him. and he was playing with his set of chops (those ones with ink that you can chop on paper) and he was humming this tune, and he was chopping the chops on his arm. then he climbed up on the seat and turned around and tried to chop us. (omg sounds wrong and psycho) so we let him chop our arms with his various colours of chops. (they're toy story ones, haha) thus we ended up like this!
his mother was like "um ... don't do that to the 姐姐s ..." then after he finished befriending us with his chops it was "say byebye to the 姐姐s!"
so nice to be a kid, you can do weird things and people don't give you weird looks. i don't ever want to grow up.

wohoho i finally got around to watching this ep, in which:
1. sebastian sings "london bridge is falling down" out of tune; 2. greil the shinigami flirts like nobody's business; 3. the super drool-worthy doll guy looks like a chicken after he gets chopped in the head; 4. little clowns with absolutely gorgeous hair run around, and; 5. there actually is some kind of plot after all this ... stuff.
O: i was quite sad about the chicken thing. T.T because his coolness factor dropped by half at that moment. can't you at least spurt sawdust from your head in a more un-chicken-ly manner when you get slashed ! but never mind! mister doll guy will be back and cooler than ever, i'm sure! :D

choir jc choir is fun!:D i got a new song on monday, it's a potential syf piece! it has a crazy title, crazy chords, crazy rhythm, and is super difficult, but very very fun to sing.
the title is "!QUÉ RICO É¡" but my conductor just calls it mambo because parts of it go "mambo, mambo, mambo mi mambo". XD
oh yeah, we also have to perform on the 19th for the nobel laureates thing! WHYYYYYYY. i want to sit with 401! *whines* T.T must wear gown somemore. >< i hope nobody i know is in smtp high school ...
maths went insane's house yesterday with gecko & bro, xy and layting to do the hwachong maths papers. and watch bleach (劇場版BLEACH The DiamondDust Rebellion もう一つの氷輪丸) on a big tv. :D i finished 12 questions! not bad considering how much stuff has drained out of my brain since the start of holidays. (there was the answer sheet lying around, though.) but i was quite amazed that we really did maths for like 6 hours. and we cooked our own lunch! more like, we bought canned food and insane ended up cooking most of it. >< also, you shouldn't talk too much while doing maths together because more often than not, you'll end up in hysterical laughter and be rendered unable to follow your maths train of thoughts. what's more, you shouldn't talk about weird topics while doing maths, because you will end up copying all of the answers! we cleaned out the chocolates in the fridge! it was probably the most fun i've had in the past few weeks, haha.
bleach was funny. and full of hitsugaya fanservice. (: but nobody minds! i am going to find that gorgeous screenshot of hitsu lying on the forest floor and make something out of it oh yes! <3 because it's a 90 minute movie, the plot doesn't make sense and is full of loopholes. also, everyone else gets to show off their bankai and ultimate prowess, except for orihime who did nothing. kusaka is cool! he should come back as an arrancar or something in the manga, he's totally cool arrancar material! just use some other zanpakutou, hehe.
i reached home at 7.50pm and got scolded for being late for dinner. whoops. so i'm stuck here now instead of doing maths at someone else's house, because i think my mum will scream her head off if i tell her i'm gonna go do maths at my friend's house again. ): gomen ne><

on a random note, the other day i stumbled across this blog where the author likes ajikan, and hates abingdon, and wrote about both of them in the same post. i didn't know whether to feel happy or sad. O.O
also, i played cards with my family after a long time! on monday. which explains why i forgot to watch gundam. T.T

ooooh. i've wanted to do this for a long long long long time. <3
presenting ajikan's newest album, which is not so new anymore, which means i've listened to it like a million times already! this was released on chinese o level day. and same day as the LM.C albums. this album is more pop-y as compared to ajikan's previous albums. it sounds a bit like ajikan decided to take a break from serious rock and go to the beach. i have continuous images of ajikan playing their stuff on a beach when i'm listening to this. XD it's one of ajikan's most relaxed albums so far. at first it sounded very very very confusing, but then the songs grew on me, like how most ajikan songs do.
let's go track by track!
first released as a single, "Fujisawa Loser" is a song with tight guitar chords and harmonies. it has a strong pulse, very nice. it's a bit short, but nevertheless enjoyable. they tried new things like sliding down from the ending note. the melody is simple but brilliant, and very very catchy. it's just a bit short ... it would be nicer if they added one more verse and chorus.
"Kugenuma Surf" was first released as a b-side to "Aru Machi no Gunjou" (their most awesome song EVER), but in the album version they cut the guitars-drums-and-gotou-warming-up parts which i kinda liked, to jump straight into the verses. this is the song that keeps making me think of beaches and surfing. really. also, it's short. (as a matter of fact, most songs here are ...)
"Enoshima Esker" or whatever its english name is supposed to be, was released as a b-side to "Korogaru Iwa, Kimi ni Asa ga Furu". as usual, the melody is catchy and i like kita's guitar accompaniments and the harmonies! but the vocal and guitars sound a bit faded as compared to the other tracks, maybe it's the guitars they used? (i'm pretty sure it's not my file problem)
"Koshigoe Baby" is where things start to get confusing. when i first listened to this i didn't like it because the first verse is plain weird, and the chords are hard to catch. also, the chorus is a bit awkward because gotou did his octave jumping thing again in the chorus. but after listening to it more carefully, the bridge is VERY nice (the chords O:) and the chorus grew on me. they fit very nicely with the 3/4 timing and the guitars are the kind i like.
"Shichirigahama Kite" became one of my favourite tracks in this album (from the new tracks), and i don't know why. the melody just stuck with me. some people would call it a boring song because there's not much dynamics and everything is c-a-l-m. the chords are great, and the rhythm is interesting. i've never heard this kind of thing from ajikan before, i don't know why i like it so much.
"Inamuragasaki Jane" is one of the most intense and exciting (haha) songs in the album. i didn't like the rhythm at first because it was confusing, but after that it was okay. it's ... cute! and bouncy. gotou's voice is in the intense-till-bursting-and-threatening-to-go-out-of-tune mode, plus it's a fast song, so this made me a bit worried when i listened to it. but he pulled it off well.
i liked "Gokurakuji Heartbreak" when i first listened to the whole album because it was the first song i could figure out in the initial mess. and the guitars were nice! but after that the melody sounded weird, and i don;t really like it anymore. there are some weird melody twists that don't sound nice. seems like ajikan always has this problem - the melody sometimes twists into something very weird. i only like parts of it, like the bridge and the guitars.
the verses of "Hase Sanzu" are irritating because of the weird chords and staccato guitars (didn't manage to pull it off)... but! the chorus is F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C.! <3 which also earned it one of the top spots in the album. it's just the familiar comforting ajikan-style rock with a nice melody and amazing chords. very very nice!~ anyway i have no idea what the title means.
"Yuigahama Kite" is one of the most irritating songs ajikan ever composed, in my opinion. O.O there's this part in the middle where the speed increases and there's a nice guitar part, but the starting melody is plain irritating. the only thing i like about it is the back part and the guitars. by the way, this song was the b-side to "After Dark". they kinda go well together.
"Kamakura Good-bye" is total <3!~ it's i think one of the most ballad-y songs they ever wrote, and it came out really well. although the accompaniment and everything is simple, but it's not boring. it's the kind of song which washes over you and you go "aaaaaahhhhhhh omg that was nice". :D and gotou's voice is nice here. one of the nicest songs here!
つまり。 go listen!:D though i would recommend "World World World" for beginners. but "Surf Bungaku Kamakura" is something new and refreshing! haha. by the way, this is the concept of the album: the titles of the songs are from the enoshima electric railway line in japan, and the order of the stations are Fujisawa, Kugenuma, Enoshima, Koshigoe, Shichirigahama, Inamuragasaki, Gokurakuji, Hase, Yuigahama, then Kamakura. so it's supposed to signify a journey from Fujisawa to Kamakura. explains why the titles are so long.
cool right! and the train on the cover of "Fujisawa Loser" is modelled after the real trains on the enoshima railway! (same green and all)
i still like ajikan's more serious stuff, but this is interesting enough to last until their next album!~(:

75% is the passing mark, and by looking at the results i can tell that the examiners weren't entirely satisfied with many sections, because everything is 差一点点 but not quite there yet.
went shihui's house with insane and xy to help bake brownies for xy!
first time i've ever baked with someone else except my family (other than home econs waaaaay back in sec 2). feel privileged, people! haha.
the brownies are super nice! full of chocolate chunks, and looked like a chocolate cake when it came out of the oven.
we spent a while making the batter. i don't think i was much of a help, because other than not being able to cook to save my life i also can't bake to save my life. the 1st batch was nice, the 2nd batch had large chocolate chunks but it was poured too thickly so the middle was a bit uncooked. so xy ended up taking the 1st batch and we took the 2nd batch home. i eat anything with chocolate inside anyway. and we fought for the chocolate chunks. (: because half-melted chocolate chunks are absolutely <3.
while waiting for the brownies to bake, we went for a house tour. XD then we sat around the table in the kitchen and talked about jc and dreams and bl and complicated familial structures.

xy dropped this bouncy ball out of the 3rd floor balcony window. then we went to the 2nd floor near the roof to find it. it actually flew out and turned more than 90 degrees to land in the garden.
then we looked at shihui's photo book in which she and her sister insults each other via the photo captions.
shihui's ahma makes fantatastic fried noodles and chili!

after that we climbed 90 steps to go to liang court's kino to look for insane's animage. (but don't have) the counter staff had a cool armband!(:
then we took the mrt all the way to jurong east to go see the new jurong point (jp 2), which had this book rental shop. turned out to be quite expensive. went around the new place, but it mostly contains the newer clothes and food stores, since the old jurong point has all the neccesities already, i guess. so we ended up in comics connection as usual.
then i took a lovely ride on the lovely north-east line home at peak hour. (took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get home, and the 238 bus queue went across half the interchange) i think my bag wafted brownies when i opened it on the train. oops.
also, insane has found this place! comment, please! :D i don't dare to advertise shamelessly so a lot of people didn't notice. sorry!

just discovered this a few days ago. actually it came out together with surf bungaku kamakura.P: 忘れちゃってごめーん><
it's great! though a bit messy and confusing the first time round (considering the fact that i first listened to it on the super noisy underground mrt), once you get used to the twisting melodies most of the songs fall into place. there were some i liked straightaway, like "CHEMICAL KING-TWOON" (no idea what it means) which has a pv! it's quite typical LM.C stuff.
surprisingly, i like "Galileo", although maya rapped through half of it. the last (and only) rap i heard from LM.C was "☆Rock The LM.C☆", which i didn't like (disaster, imo). but maya's rapping has improved to my liking!the best part is the chorus, which makes me feel like i'm hurtling through the universe. :D pure genius!"cosmology" is pure electronica (i think...) electronica with a few guitar parts but the melody is quite nice and it has the starry and cosmo-y feel so that the name fits perfectly. but the last part, where the same motif is repeated for 4x8x5 counts, is irritating. o.o
"TABOO" has a catchy starting! also, "Love me?" and "my girl" are those nice happy christmassy sentimental-piggy-romance like tunes which serve as a break from the other rock stuff. "my girl"'s guitar parts are cute! but i don't like the chorus.
"Rainbow Magic Orchestra" and "Room_C" are interludes.
the rest of the new tracks are kind of confusing. probably will take some time to get used to.
it's awesome if you've heard LM.C before, and crazy if you've not. and everyone should hear them first before watching their pvs. (unless you're a hardcore visual kei fan ... i thought they were crazy when i first saw 88's pv in japan)
also, it seems that LM.C released another full length album on the same day as "GIMMICAL☆IMPACT!!", called "SUPER GLITTER LOUD BOX". 故意的是不是！ quoting some comment somewhere, it's like "'GLITTER LOUD BOX' on steroids". (: it mostly consists of past singles + "GLITTER LOUD BOX" tracks, albeit SUPER-GLITTER-LOUD-BOX version. that means i have to go listen to "GLITTER LOUD BOX" first. takes time, and mp3 storage space!

went on friday with gecko and insane on a sudden whim, since it was the last possible day to go without having to pay $1.50 to get in.
it was ... interesting.

we ended up viewing the exhibits in a screwed-up order, jumping from zone to zone (and skipping the exhibits that were too cheem). some of them are super fun/cool, especially the interactive and high-tech ones! i've never played with high-tech art before. there was also one on the first gundam series, and there were shelves of manga (including FMA) which no one seemed to dare to touch. XD also, PSPs and Wiis with different games! in the end, though, we spent most of the time watching the animation short clips.

the video system shut down in the middle of "A Tale of Carefree King" at 9.00pm sharp. D: then the guard started to shoo people out. we spent 2 hours there but i think it's possible to play with the exhibits all day! especially with all the consoles and manga around.
i really like BLOCKMAN, by this ungoogleable Murakoshi Youhei. it's so simple and so amazing.
it's about a cube planet in the middle of space (seen through a telescope) made of small cubes and the cubes come together to make cute shapes that move/fly/roll/wriggle around on the cube. but i like the back where they all burst into small cubes and drift away. like ... very pretty apocalypse. also "THE CLOCKWORK CITY" took up 25 minutes of our precious time, but i remember that the music sounded a bit like ajikan's. (like the start of 或る街の群青 on a 25-minute loop.) :D most of them are cute! i want to see all of them!!! but most of them are also ungoogleable. don't know what the artists have been doing.
i watched kuroshitsuji yesterday, and saw this in the preview of next week's episode.
?!?! what is this?! macross ripoff? in the preview there were the stars too, just that it wasn't captured in the screenshot. lately the previews have been more shocking than the actual show itself, huh.

my thumbdrive is M.I.A. since 3 weeks ago. i'm quite sure i left it stuck in the electone at the exam room, but the counter staff didn't get any lost-and-found. all my song data is inside! die!
and i finally found out where's the offset filter in GIMP recently! since, what, 2 years ago?! offset is this function from photoshop i've been missing since my computer went suicide on my programs 2 years ago, used to make tiled backgrounds. arrgh! can't believe it's been there all along and that i've been living without it all along. now GIMP is one more step closer to photoshop! open source is <3
shall talk about class gatherings in the past week or so.
401 class gathering had class gathering yesterday at the twins' condo's function room! turnout was not bad, actually.
actually we spent most of the time shouting at the karaoke system in the room. i think my eardrums half died after listening to ju's screaming singing. also ate junk food, beehoon and shihui's baking (tiramisu, cheese cakes with oreo and digestive biscuit base, yes!). and managed to play some bridge and half a game of pig before half the players lost interest simultaneously and wandered off.
got this really cute monkey from trixie which is a paper holder, and when you pull the monkey's head out it becomes a pen! :D
also we went to the gym to play around with their equipment. i think the people using the gym at that time were super irritated with us because we 乱乱用 and make a lot of noise. XD then we went to sit by the pool and talk crap.
i successfully took 151 home today! maybe i shall try taking next year.
oh yes we are meeting at the hwachong bus stop (the one with the 2nd floor connected to the overhead bridge) on the 19th so that if we get lost at least we get lost together! who else wants to come!
203 barbecue my umbrella still smells of charcoal and i haven't opened it yet in case i get showered in soot.
why does it always have to rain when we're having gatherings on the beach?! (causing us to wander around parkway parade while continuously staring up at the transparent glass ceiling to see how hard it was raining)
after the rain stopped it was fun, though.
before we started the fire we took a lot of spastic photos and went to frolic on the beach in the rain with our umbrellas. ju, oly, qr-tachi started proclaiming their love for TVXQ on the sand. meanwhile, me and xy did this!

after trying to start the fire for super long, and making both my arms black from charcoal, we ate and ate and ate and finished most of the food, which was super yummy. my umbrella was used to shelter the barbecue, that's why it smells of soot. i had to scrub my arms afterwards.
then we took a long bus home and talked crap on the bus.
we didn't get to cycle *sulks* but still, we should go again on a sunny day someday!
at afa '08 (anime festival asia) we went to play the pay-money-and-turn-and-a-ball-falls-out machines.

guess i'm just really unlucky. i checked and double-checked and triple-checked to see if i dropped the hair bit anywhere, but it's really not there.
i contemplated going to the place that produced the figurines (there's an address on the paper!) to demand for hong long's missing hair bit. even better, maybe they will let me swap it for another figurine of my choice! *grins*
but it's not feasible and probably impossible, and it's not like he's bald O: so hong long has to live with a rectangular hole at the back of his head. しかたないなあー

quite screwed. now i have to wait for the results, which take about 3 months to come. oh well.
the paper was not as un-doable as expected, considering how i only started cramming 5000 new words and 42 pages of 文法 one week before the test. if i'm really lucky, i might be able to scrape a pass. if i don't, i'm not taking it again! (and my parents will kill me for wasting their money.) level 1 is so farrrrrr away.><
here's a rundown:
section 1: kanji and vocab the easiest section. the front was okay, but i started to guess alot near the back. there was a lot of words i've never seen before. やかましい is うるさい , not へん！
section 2: listening the section which most people taking the test worry about, i screwed it.>< for some of the questions, i didn't even know what the people were talking about. and would it hurt them to say their lines twice?! at least i didn't stone off like last year.
section 3: comprehension and grammar the longest and most tiring section. the passages were either long, or difficult, or both. as usual, i guessed my way through the grammar parts. there was this interesting/weird passage about a guy who found a penguin in the middle of roppongi (?!), but turns out that it was a black and white cat (?!!). i died on the questions for this one anyway. jap compre is becoming more and more like chinese compre, where they ask you to explain what all those 修辞手法 and literary devices mean. and of course, i didn't know.
by the way, SMU is super cool! and high tech. the test room had tables in a semicircle, and the chairs are the office type which are super comfortable. sort of reminds me of the harry potter trial dungeon or the LT in soul eater! pity on you, poor level 3 people who have to go to the ulu japanese school with the primary-school-kid sized chairs! aww.
and also, it's possible to see the answers of the people sitting in front of you, but of course nobody did that, duh.
ju ponned the test to go run her marathon so i had extra table space (again).
i met my primary school friend in the same test room!:D she didn't know i took jap and i didn't know she took jap.
i love coffeejp.com and all the nice sites that have grammar/vocab/kanji lists and practice papers!
that's about it - i don't have to worry about jlpt for at least another 2 years, and i don't have to struggle so hard next year because i've learnt half the things already! yay.

omg EPIC BATTLE! with big machines vs-ing each other! the nicest battle in the past few eps. (maybe because i can understand big machines blowing up each other)
although everyone knows celestial being will win, it was still very nice.
memento mori was so pretty when it blew up! can tell that the producers put in extra effort to make the scenes.
ribbons should be pissed off for the next few weeks. (i'm sorry i said all those things about you!)
lockon finally gets to show off his skills and earn a bit of respect from the others! after behaving not-up-to-standard for a while.
